ABOUT THE GARDEN

Staffs Uni Community Organic Garden was established in 2007 and is now in its sixth growing season.

Occupying a six allotment site on the Cauldon and Leek Road allotments, the Garden was established to bring together like-minded students, staff and ex-students to work together to produce a wealth of vegetables fruit and flowers to share.

The Garden is established as a co-owned, cooperative not –for-profit organisation, supported in part by the University.

Meeting up to five times a week in the spring and summer and twice weekly in the winter, over 380 people have been to the Garden and contributed to the work involved in planting, maintaining and harvesting. The key to its success is that people attend when they are available and stay for as long as they can and we’ve been very successful n adopting that approach.

You don’t have to be a skilled gardener to join us – we’ll teach you what to do and for some people it’s been helpful in getting them to the point where they take on their own gardens.

Tools and refreshments are provided, all you have to do is come along in sensible clothing and footwear.

To join the mailing list, arrange your visit and find out opening times email dave.allman@staffs.ac.uk
